Project Details
The scope of work for the replacement school of Beaver Run Elementary includes six (6) independent heat recovery variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems used in conjunction with dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS) for ventilation serving classrooms, office administration suite, and the media center. DOAS units, as well as VRF air cooled condensing units were strategically located in penthouses for the zones they served.
Assembly spaces such as the gym and dining areas were served by single zone variable flow packaged rooftop units. The air handling systems utilized low cost natural gas as the energy source. The DOAS units utilized a supply air reset schedule based on outdoor air conditions to enhance energy efficiency and to reduce operating costs. The plumbing systems included domestic hot and cold water, sanitary, storm, natural gas and fire protection. Electrical systems included a 2000 AMP 480v / 277v service, power distribution, interior and site lighting, emergency power and fire alarm systems.
This project is a 104,790 square foot, single story replacement of Beaver Run Elementary School. It’s going to have a community center, wellness center, a beautiful gymnasium, and much more built into it. It was bid in November 2019, and the cost is $45,000,000. It is projected to open in Fall 2022. Beaver Run Elementary School is designed to meet IGCC Requirements in lieu of LEED V4.
