Project Details
Alban Engineering provided MEP engineering for the expansion to the existing Maryland Theatre; including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm and coordination between IT/Voice and Security sub-consultant.
This project includes relocation and extension of existing utilities to accommodate new addition footprint and increased electrical load. Lighting fixtures were designed with aesthetics and performance in mind, while allowing the owner simple lighting controls to meet the current energy code and theatre needs.
The restored Maryland Theatre is the crown jewel of the City of Hagerstown. The expansion provides the theatre with all of the front-of-house amenities it has been longing for since the tragic fire that ravaged the building in 1974.
The expansion of the MD Theatre includes an addition of the performing arts center, a new facade and open grand lobby, new orchestra and mezzanine lobbies, updated concession stands, improved box office, VIP lounge, additional restrooms, and more. The Maryland Theatre is back to creating a grand showplace for the community of Hagerstown.
